Cancer Survivorship

AICAF's Survivorship Program
The American Indian Cancer Foundation’s (AICAF) Survivorship Program addresses the needs of Native cancer survivors, caregivers, and their families. The Program provides collaborative technical assistance to clinics, communities and organizations working to implement or improve survivor programs for Native people. Program staff aim to increase awareness and knowledge of Indigenous cancer survivors through development of culturally-specific resources and care packages, social media campaigns, and AICAF’s Survivor Story Series. Survivorship Program work is currently funded by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as part of the National Comprehensive Cancer Control Program (NCCCP).
If you are a Native cancer survivor or caregiver and are interested in lending your voice to our Survivor Story Series, please contact communications@aicaf.org.
Survivor Support Survey
AICAF developed the Survivor Support Survey to determine the needs of Native cancer survivors and caregivers, and the ways that the we can help support them on their journeys. The information collected will be used to compile and create culturally-tailored resources that will benefit indigenous cancer survivors, caregivers and their families. It will also assist our team with survivorship program planning and help guide the development of Native-focused cancer plans. For questions about the Survivor Support Survey or AICAF’s Survivorship Program, please email health@aicaf.org or call 612.314.4859.

Cancer Support Circle
Take part in the AICAF Virtual Cancer Support Circle! This group is open to Native cancer survivors, including caregivers and loved ones, as well as other community members who are impacted by a cancer diagnosis. Learn more about the circle by emailing the Cancer Programs team at health@aicaf.org.

Join us in June for National Cancer Survivor Awareness Month

Celebrate Indigenous Life
Cancer survivorship begins at diagnosis and lasts throughout one's lifespan. Because relatives and caregivers are impacted by a diagnosis, they too are survivors. Support our cancer warriors in Indian Country by celebrating National Cancer Survivor Awareness Month in June! Get involved in AICAF's Celebrate Indigenous Life campaign by raising awareness of Indigenous cancer inequities, uplifting the voices in your community, and celebrating the strength and resilience of survivors everywhere.
