Blue Beads Day

Join AICAF on March 16, 2023 to celebrate Blue Beads Day!
Blue Beads Day is a national colorectal cancer awareness campaign for our families across Indian Country. Our team invites Native people of all ages to join us by wearing blue beads or clothing, and sharing photos on social media using the hashtag #BlueBeadsDay to raise awareness of CRC screening. Colon cancer disproportionately affects our communities, and is the second leading cause of cancer death. Blue Beads Day aims to educate people about the importance of early detection, and remind men and women to stay up to date on their cancer screenings. Finding and removing polyps before they turn into cancer may help save your life. Because this national campaign happens on a digital platform, community members are able to participate from anywhere!
Wear Blue.
Wear blue beadwork or clothing to raise awareness of colorectal cancer in our communities and the importance of screening, and to honor relatives who have faced or are currently facing a diagnosis.
Get Screened. Blot Indian Country Blue.
Talk to your health care provider to schedule your next screening, and learn more about ways to lower your risk. Talk to your loved ones about the importance of early detection and encourage them to get screened.
Help us end colon cancer in Indian Country. Pledge to get screened! We plan to #BlotItBlue using only the city and state on your pledge to turn Indian Country blue during the Month of March. We will display this on a map to visualize participation during Blue Beads month. *Please note we will not share any personal information only location of city and state*
